The Sales Side of Radio
A few weeks ago, ESPN 760's Ken LaVicka gave me a whole speech about knowing the sales side of radio. Ken told me being familiar with sales could be your ticket into the door. He said if you know sales, you have an advantage over a lot of other people that are trying to make it in sports radio.
He preached to me to always try to make connections with potential business partners. He said if you see a potential business partner, you should be personable with them and get their contact information for the sales office. Ken told me it will benefit the station and it will make you look good.
Ken is also the the play-by-play voice for FAU football and basketball and co-hosts the Sunday Sports from 10:00am - 1:05pm.
